We booked cycling throughout the hinterland, although we don’t cycle much back home. It was absolutely superb. The route wasn’t too hard, the weather was great (we travelled in May) and scenery was amazing. It was the right balance for a family. My kids are 12 and 13, both have average fitness.

The tour benefited the local companies as it didn’t use any major corporations for any of the activities and services. All of the guides were wonderful. I cannot spell their names so cannot begin to attempt to write them down; but they were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I give this adventure park in Slovenia a 5 star excellence rating. The only area I think there could be maybe more safety briefings especially for teenager boys like my brother! I loved the archery competition and mountain karts. It wasn’t the biggest rush we have ever been on but the guides were great and the nature was stunning. The high ropes was exhilarating too especially the swing drops; I’d never done anything like that before and was really proud looking back. For other travellers a top tip is to pack a comfy and warm hoody; which is useful when you go up to the top of the Krvavec adventure park and also if you do an optional tour to Postjona caves.

I think this was an awesome family holiday. All of the activities were fun and enjoyable. The water activities were thrilling and of course you were guaranteed to get wet; wet; wet! I think it was a green holiday as all transfers were short and we walked whenever possible. I liked all the staff members because they were good fun and extremely friendly. I also liked the activity coaches who were all very kind and supportive. It was also nice hanging out with other families with similar aged kids. This really made the holiday and I’ll miss everyone! My favourite day tour was rafting and visiting Lake Bled. Its a must do day tour experience.

There is nothing you guys can improve. Its 5 stars all the way. The highlights for me were watching Anya and James zip down on their mountain go-karts and the ‘ice-cream’ challenge on the high ropes activity. It’s such fun and I would really recommend for anyone doing this Krvavec summer adventure park in Slovenia to make the most of every day because as they say ‘ time flies when you’re having fun’. I think this was also a responsible tourism type of eco park. There was a lot of attention to nature and sustainability and all our drivers, guides and tour leaders were local Slovenian people. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me with special praise to our tour leaders. Slovenia itself is beautiful and amazing!

We just loved the green and wonderful woodland of Slovenia. It might not have the fig trees, luscious pine forests, olive groves of its neighbouring Croatia, but it has an abundance of dense untouched forests and gorgeous vineyards. We found some lovely swimming spots in the river and cooled off in the summer sun. Lake Bohinj is a truly stunning location and a must-see on any family walking holidays in Slovenia. Once you have got your basic paddle technique down, kayaking is one of the most rewarding river activities you can do. Our sports instructors took us through the steps, which gave myself and kids full confidence. During the morning the focus was on skill and technique. The afternoon, was our chance to river test our skills on Grade II rapids. River kayaking in Slovenia is a vital ingredient of any family active holiday. Definitely book this trip. We saw the countryside, small villages, dirt tracks, paths along the river and quiet winding roads. We were first time visitors to this Slovene skiing resort and the first thing to note is that we stayed in Ljubljana not on the resort. The restaurants en piste aren’t anything to write home about, but the snow quality was good and lift network fast with few queues. Slovenia is not expensive, so if you are looking for value, it’s a winner. We didn’t experience the après bars or that many restaurants in town, being with the kids.

We visited as a family during the epic snow fall in March and only missed one day’s skiing when they couldn’t open the lifts due to too much snow and mist. It’s a really good place for intermediates. Krvavec is a small Slovenian resort with modern lift connections. It’s perfect for ski breaks for all abilities and beginners for longer periods. Overall, it’s a cool place. Conditions are excellent with an abundance of snow always in Slovenia. The lifts are modern and quick. Ljubljana itself offers many activities for families and teenagers. We love the Atlantis Waterpark. For family ski holidays with limited time, Slovenia is the golden ticket. We recommend EasyJET or Wizz Air, both have been reliable options for direct flights to Ljubljana.
