Ski Safari Half Term
Join our February half term Ski Safari. Designed for families with teenagers for the ultimate family skiing holiday in Slovenia, Italy & Austria.
Our teenager friendly Slovenia Ski Safari is very special in many ways. Firstly, it gives you chance to ski & explore this beautiful country in winter under the care of our wonderful Tour Leaders. We arrange all the transfers, ski passes, ski equipment and can arrange any re-fresher lessons where required. So relax and just look forward to an amazing family ski holiday in the February half term.
This is a sociable holiday. The ski safari offers the right balance of independent family time coupled with social time with other families booked on. Enjoy pristine resorts in Slovenia, Austria and Italy giving you access to places which you may not have come across before.
Finally and most importantly for the teenagers; it’s a lot of fun. Based at the Plaza hotel outside Ljubljana you are entitled to FREE access to Atlantis thermal water park next door; which is always a winner with parents and kids a like. You also have the opportunity to try our ski bikes. Places are limited, as these are small group trips.

Itinerary
Arrival day
Day 1 - Saturday
Today, we will collect your family from Ljubljana airport and take you to 4 star Hotel Plaza for your quick check-in.
This evening we will have a welcome dinner at the hotel and run through the plan for the following days.
After dinner, relax or explore the capital by night. It’s an enchanting city, very walkable and very safe. Our families call it the hidden pearl of Europe.
Krvavec (Slovenia)
Day 2 - Sunday
Krvavec is Ljubljana’s closest ski resort, just over 30 minutes from your hotel. Our team will organise your private ski fitting first and then the day will be free to enjoy this modern and pristine resort.
At over 2000m above sea level it also offers some spectacular views often from above the cloud line. Get your groove back on some easy Greens and Blues before trying a few tougher reds or blacks in the afternoon. At Krvavec we also have the option to let you try our ski bikes; which are always a family favourite.
Vogel (Slovenia)
Day 3 - Monday
Vogel is a truly spectacular skiing resort, perfect for family ski trips. Transfer time is only 30 minutes; so once again we can enjoy the great outdoors in no time at all.
Vogel is well set up for all abilities and levels of skier; so today you can relax and take it easy or try some of the more challenging runs. As always, our ski tour leaders will be on hand to co-ordinate the day, so you get the most from it.
Dreiländereck - Arnoldstein (Austria)
Day 4 - Tuesday
Your Ski Safari family adventure continues into Austria today. Again transfer times are under 1 hour. Dreiländereck – Arnoldstein is another hidden gem of a resort; ideally set up for a family ski holiday.
As well as offering beautiful white surroundings, well groomed slopes and fast lift systems, the lodges here offer some of the best home soups we’ve experienced. For those wanting to raise their pulses, enjoy the 8.4km long tobogganing track.
Kranjska Gora (Slovenia)
Day 5 - Wednesday
Kranjska Gora is probably Slovenia’s most famous ski resort. It’s pretty village ambiance makes it a delightful experience. Your family will surely fall in love with this magical snow resort. In the afternoon you will surely be lured into one of the local taverns for a hot chocolate or a warm gluhwein.
On your return to Ljubljana, why not use your free passes to the neighbouring Atlantis waterpark. Enjoy a variety of thermal pools – indoor and out; large jacuzzi’s, steam rooms and Turkish style hammams. Teenagers will invariably gravitate to the slides; so a bit of me time is almost guaranteed for mum & dad!
Night skiing (Italy)
Day 6 - Thursday
Today you can have a relax in at the hotel. Enjoy the Atlantis Waterpark or walk around the cobble stone streets of this fairy-tale capital.
In the early afternoon we will travel across the border into Italy and enjoy an amazing afternoon & evening of night skiing at Visarje-Travisio ski resort. This offers a very special experience and one of the highlights of the ski safari.
Krvavec (Slovenia)
Day 7 - Friday
As always the week will have gone too quickly but that’s always the way when you are having fun on the slopes. Today is the last day of your family ski holiday adventure and we will do our best to make it a memorable one.
Today we recommend taking out the ski bikes. It’s a super fun activity to do as a group. Ski biking is flexible and fun. Best of all, it takes 5 minutes to learn how to do it! After a great day we head back to the hotel but rather than eating at the hotel tonight, we will take you into Ljubljana for our farewell meal. Prepare for a feast.
Departure day
Day 8 - Saturday
One final hearty breakfast and sadly it will be time to make our goodbyes and arrange your homeward bound transfers but in Slovenia rather than say ‘farewell’; we prefer to say ‘until the next time’.

Adventure lovers dream
The family ski trip was very good, we had a lovely time, thanks. We would enjoy it even more if we were able to travel in Jan or March, rather than the half term…. but hey ho parents can’t change school dates. Superb guides, we loved switching locations everyday. If you want a different type of ski trip, then book onto the ski safari.

Best place for half term holiday
The guests were like minded, friendly and outdoorsy people. So the group gelled very quickly. The itinerary was as described, going to different places everyday. The guides and instructors are never ending in energy. Always flexible and easy to communicate with. Its been the best half term holiday we’ve done as a family

big happy family
Not too happy to be back in front of my computer, but more than happy to write this review of our slovenia ski safari week. It started with an on time easy jet flight (hurray!!) and not a massive fan of flying, I was pleased that the flight is a very short one. No issues in Ljubljana, it’s a walk through airport, bags all there (well done easyjet) and our driver was there to greet us. The drive to Ljubljana is just 20 minutes, but didn’t seem as long as that. There was a relaxed opportunity to meet other guests on the first evening and by the second day we were like one big happy family. Of course the Dads picked up on the essential information and local lingo – ordering Lasko and Union beers). Teenagers all hung out and seemed disinterested with their phones (hurray!!). The skiing was fantastic, the guides even better. This is an incredible half term experience. Go for it.

Tick all the boxes
This multi active ski week in Slovenia, did seem to tick all the boxes! For me, we loved the night skiing and ski bikes. But the visit Austria was a super day skiing. Another tremendous experience, as this was our second adventure holiday with your company.

Great family ski holiday
I just wanted to email you to say what a great family ski holiday in Slovenia. Tony, the kids and i have just had the best experience. For us it was the perfect combination of activities and chilling out in Ljubljana. Jaka was brilliant as our guide and host all week. He seemed to genuinely enjoy taking us out on the ski days and made many wonderful recommendations for our après evenings in the capital.
