Walking
Slovenia is a green and active land, ideal for family walking holidays. Slovenia is also dedicated to sustainable tourism making it the perfect destination for low impact and environmentally responsible hiking. Trails and routes are clearly marked and offer a diverse range of walks, hikes and treks. From easy 5km family friendly trails to 2-3 day mountain hikes with over-nights in mountain huts. Our team of expert guides will discuss your requirements and recommend suitable walking tours for you. If you are on a family activity holiday in Slovenia we would recommend trails around Lake Bohinj area. This also applies for travellers looking for pretty but easy to moderate routes. For the more experienced walkers we offer nature trails in Novo Mesto (a stunning natural heritage area) or tougher routes in the Soca valley. Itinerary
Walking Day Tour
Come join the fun!
We will collect you from the listed hotels below and depending on what you have booked take you to the relevant start point. If you are doing a family adventure holiday in Slovenia we recommend doing one of our trails around the Lake Bohinj area.
We do waterfall routes and also hikes ontop of Vogel for families with teenagers. If the weather is nice we will build in swim and chill time too!
With transfers our walking tours tend to take up most of the day. So typically you will be out from 09.00am until 18.00pm; sometimes longer if you are doing an advanced or longer route. These are accompanied trails so we do have the potential to adapt the day depending on who has booked; always with your safety and pleasure in mind.
We kindly ask all persons attending to bring suitable walking foot wear; ruck sacks, sun hats, water bottles and snacks.
dense untouched forests
We just loved the green and wonderful woodland of Slovenia. It might not have the fig trees, luscious pine forests, olive groves of its neighbouring Croatia, but it has an abundance of dense untouched forests and gorgeous vineyards. We found some lovely swimming spots in the river and cooled off in the summer sun. Lake Bohinj is a truly stunning location and a must-see on any family walking holidays in Slovenia. The walks were great, the accommodation 2-3 star basic. Food was 5 star rated

Great reputation
There are plenty of hiking options. But we chose to walk and visit Lake Bled and a nearby UNESCO cave network. We had heard that walking holidays in Slovenia have a great reputation, and we totally agree. Md level stamina is required to enoy the day. You’ll be walking for 5-6 hours. Bring suitable shoes and clothing

Very positive tour
Very positive tour experience for myself & son. Bohinj was a perfect place to hike, I liked our private guide, transfers very good and new friends were made very easily. Yes, I would recommend this tour.

Excellent guide
Miha was our guide, we would give him 10 out of 10, he was an excellent guide, supportive, helpful and encouraging. The overall ambiance of nature and the care and attention of guides, makes this a nice walking tour. We are used to longer tours, so felt let down by the 4-5 hour durations.
